Correction of wrinkles, pigment skin changes, scars
Correction of degenerative skin changes belongs among the most sought-after laser procedures. It includes wrinkles, senile skin hyperpigmentation and warts, enlarged vessels etc. Laser surgeries of larger extend (e.g. all face wrinkles) are mostly performed under general anaesthesia, when treatment of smaller areas local anaesthesia will be sufficient. Surgery is preceded by detailed skin investigation and particularly thorough examination of patient who must be in detail informed about pre-operative preparation, about procedure itself and about post-operative care. Skin condition after surgery depends on the type of laser used. In wrinkles operation we use carbonic laser as we want to achieve so called collagen remodelation. This effect brings long-term results as it causes not only refinement of skin surface, but particularly its consolidation. The skin does not bleed after this surgery, there occurs transient oedema, tissue fluid secretion and reddening, skin heals for approx. 14 days. After this period make-up can be applied. In patients where the objective is removal of some pigmentation or e.g. scar correction we prefer erbium laser. In this case skin slightly bleeds after the procedure, and it heals a little faster. However, selection of laser type is very individual, it is even possible to combine both lasers during one surgery.
