Compressive sclerotherapy

This is an injective method for the treatment of small leg veins (size 3 – 8mm) or post – operative venous residuals correction.

During the treatment a special substance is applicated into a superficial vein; it causes non – infectious inflammation, colaps and resorbence of the vein. Elastic compression wearing (bandaging, elastic tights or stockings) is an integral part of the treatment. The compressive support is necessary to prevent blood backflow into the sclerotized vein, which could lead to it’s recanalization.

The total needed elastic compression period depends on the treated vein size and the range of sclerotherapy, but it is minimum 3 weeks. Typically 2 – 4 treatments are done, spanned 4 – 6 weeks apart.

The vein reduction after the treatment is up to 80%.

Within sporadic complications belong hematomas or skin pigmentation changes. Eventual residuals of veins, which are to tiny for sclerotherapy can be corrected with laser.

The price for one treatment is 900,- CZK, first appointment with consultation 500,- CZK + ultrasonographical inspection 500,- CZK.
