Application of hyaluronic acid

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a substance inhere in our body which is identical in all animal species and tissues. And the very function is used in esthetic medicine.

How and in which form is hyaluronic acid applied?

The substance is applied in gel form through injection into skin of the area we intend to correct.

Is gel application painful and how is the treatment carried out?

Each injection is mostly painful. To prevent it, we usually carry out gel application in most sites under local anaesthesia, in this case the application is almost painless. A client is applied gel through very thin little needle in semi-sitting position. The procedure takes approximately 30-45 minutes, and after its termination there is visible mild oedema and reddening in treated areas vanishing within 1 – 2 days. Treated areas should not be to

uched for 6 hours, then light make-up can be applied or skin can be gently treated.

What types of wrinkles hyaluronic acid is suitable for, and are there any other possibilities of its use?

On the market there are many variations of products designed for different types of treatment. Most often we use these fillers for smoothing nasolabial folds, for correction deep wrinkles between the eyebrows and droping corners of the mouth, we can fill fine lines around the mouth and on the cheeks or accentuate the contours and volume of the lips. It is also possible to treat circles under the eyes or enhance cheeks or recessive chin volume and correct the shape of the nose.

How long does the effect last?

Duration of the effect is very individual (6 – 12 months), however, it depends on many factors including the area treated.

Are there any risks, and who should not be treated?

Risks are minimal, however, they cannot be absolutely excluded of course. They include temporary reddening, infection, acne-like manifestations etc. Pregnant and breast-feeding women should be excluded from treatment. Application might support haze occurrence, people with coagulation disorders might experience bruises and bleeding after injections.
