Patiens with varicose veins can be treated by Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT). This modern procedure is based on the percutaneous topical application of the laser fiber to the greater saphenous vein (GSV) and its coagulation. Incompetence of the saphenofemoral junction and GSV reflux is detected by ultrasound before the procedure. EVLFT is performed under local anesthesia without hospitalization.
